Patient no 21

GENDER : MALE
BORN : 1968
NATIONALITY : BRITISH
DIAGNOSIS : MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

INFORMATION PROVIDED BY PATIENT (MARCH 2004)

I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 1996 when I was 25 years old. My disease progressed fairly rapidly and I lost my ability to climb up or down stairs. I couldn’t  ride a bicycle and the pain worsened in my legs.

When I had a blood test in 1996 my creatine levels in the blood were at 1600. The normal reading is 20 -100. In March 2004 my reading was back to 60 and my doctors were amazed! I can climb and descend stairs again  without any problem. I can also ride a bike, swim and use weights for a work out. Before I had lower back pain, but now I am fine. My doctor was taken aback. He told me to be careful, but never asked for details about the ECT method. He prescribed Prozac and pain killers but I never took them.

Since my start of ECT treatment I have been able to start my own Finance, Mortgage and Life Insurance Company which is thriving today.

Current situation as at December 2009 ~ still doing well , comes periodically for top-up treatment.
