Patient no 30

GENDER : MALE
BORN : 1956
NATIONALITY : NORWEGIAN
DIAGNOSIS : HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

INFORMATION AS GIVEN BY THE PATIENT (2009)

In September 2004 I was diagnosed with an abdominal tumour stage II B. It was a classic Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I was treated with 8 BEACOPP cycles at the Norwegian Radium Hospital and finished treatment in February 2005.

In February 2005 I then started treatment with the ECT laser. It was Susanne who treated me.

I had at the end of my BEACOPP treatment become extremely fatigued. I felt that the laser treatment was really holding me up and it got me going again, so I was able to start a full time job after just a few months. I work as an orchestral musician, a percussion player and I also teach at the Norwegian Academy of Music. I feel that I get a boost every time I go for treatment with the laser and doubt that I could have functioned in a full time job for the first two years after finishing chemotherapy without the laser.

The other significant result of the laser treatment is that the remaining scar of the tumour has been gradually reduced, measured from the CT scans, as at March 2009.

Current situation as at Dec. 2009 ~ patient is well and comes for treatment once a month.
